My Approach

I became a psychologist because I enjoy connecting and helping people find their way through hard situations in order to improve their lives. I love seeing people not just meet their goals and get their lives back, but to see the impact that they make on their families, friends, and communities when they are happier and healthier.

I have received extensive clinical and clinical-research training in anxiety, borderline personality disorder, behavioral health, mood, obsessive-compulsive spectrum disorders and have completed clinical and research work in private practice, community clinics, hospital-based settings, and medical clinics.  I continue to publish, train, and advocate in the community. I actively pursue continued training and education in evidence-based treatments for OCD, anxiety, and DBT in adolescent and adult populations.

I have a Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology and specialized training and experience in working with multiple types of anxieties and those struggling with emotion regulating emotion and tolerating distress.

Furthermore, I provide professional training nationally on Dialectical Behavioral Therapy as well as present at conferences on the use of DBT and exposure-based treatments such as ERP. Additionally, I completed a 2-year work audit for the Human Resource Development Institute at the Department of Personnel for the state of New Jersey.  Prior to entering the world of psychology, I worked 6 years for an NGO that held contracts from the National Institute of Health for international health research where I met with ministries of health from resource-limited settings to ensure proper access to care and the conduct of ethical research. I have also served as a behavioral health specialist responsible for creating programs in resourced limited settings to modify health habits as well as assess programs in place for UNICEF and the Global Health Liaisons, LLC.

I know it can feel like a big step to call a psychologist, but I’ll do my best to make it easy. During the 15-minute consultation via phone, I’ll let you know how or if I can help. If it is decided that I am not the right person, I’ll do my best to get you to the right person.

I work best with people who are tired of being stuck and ready to make changes.
